I’ve just bought a brand new server at Surpass Hosting today, those guys are amazing! I’m still setting everything up and I’ll let you know when it’s ready to make the transition.

Now we have “similar entries” and I belive this is a really cool feature. While viewing an image in a big format (click “explore”) you can see similar entries based on that image’s tags. The same happens with videos.

This is a new way to get inspiration, find images, spend your hours of boredom…

So always remember to tag!

Hello everyone, I’m really happy to say that now we can search weheartit’s archive for more and more inspiration! So if you’re looking for something specific it’s easier to get to it!

Now you have a new menu item called “my contacts”. click it and you’ll see only updates from your contacts

You can get to the same page from your profile, where now you see your contacts instead of generic “recent hearters”

When visiting someone’s profile you’ll see a button called “add as contact”, click it if you want to add that person as a contact.

If that person is already your contact, you’ll be able to change that and remove him/her from your contacts list.

So if your friends use weheartit add them! Or if someone has a really good taste you can add too.

Now you can mark entries as ‘unsafe’ and they won’t show up on the main page anymore. All unsafe entries will be checked, so please don’t mark as unsafe if it’s not really unsafe.

If you don’t mind unsafe content, you can go to your settings and choose to ‘show unsafe content’ and they’ll show up again.

I’m constantly working on the site, there are a lot of things to fix and many many others to develop.

So i’ve decided to put up a list of features we all want to see at weheartit (not necessarily in this order):

popular:
we are getting a huge amount of updates on the site, it’s getting hard to keep track, so you’ll be able to see the most popular entries of the day. (don’t panic: ‘everyone’ page will still exist if you don’t want to miss anything);
similar entries:
people are taggin the entries beautifully, so on the entry page we’ll be able to see similar entries based on the tags;
for you:
weheartit will recommend new entries for you based on what you ‘heart’;
~~contacts:~~
~~add other hearters as contacts to easily see their updates;~~
compare tastes:
see if you and someone else have similar tastes;
views:
don’t like thumbs and mouseovers? change the view and see updates in a more blog-like style.
search:
we really need this one
comments:
an easier way to see and reply to comments made on the things you’ve hearted.
PNG and GIF:
weheartit accepts only JPG for now, you’ll be able to heart images in PNG and GIF file type later.
internet explorer plugin:
internet explorer doesn’t have a bookmark bar, so you can’t use the bookmarklet there… a plugin could add a button on the bar to do the same as the bookmarklet.
open post:
heart something using a form on the page. good when you’re not on your computer and can’t use the bookmarklet. tell us the url and you’re good to go.
API:
yay
auto complete tags:
suggest tags while you’re typing, to avoid mispellings and make it faster to tag.

~~because we don’t need to see some things, right?~~

Hello again. This quick post to let you know some things:

I am working really really hard on improving the site for you guys. I’ll post the new features i’m working on tomorrow. Basicly today I was rewriting all the codes from scratch, making it cleaner and more friendly for the new features!
Our community has more than doubled in the last 24h! And it’s getting bigger and bigger. Thank you so much for spreading the word!!

Hello everyone! I’ll use this tumblr to let you know when new stuff comes to weheartit.

Two months have passed since the first line of code was written, and I’m proud to see that more and more people are joining us. So I created this blog to have a way to talk to you, and more important yet: listen to you.

We’re always working to bring you new features, and they’ll be discussed here. Also, some bugs and things that could be improved are known. On the next days we’ll have big changes that will make weheartit much easier to use.

So leave a comment if you like the site, have some suggestion or want to say anything, I’ll answer as soon as possible.
